Welcome, and I am excited you want to learn more about me!
First, I have a great family. I married my husband, Peter, in 1995. We have a fabulous daughter, Audrey, who lives in Oregon. We were adopted by two Beagles, Buster and Bailey, as well as two cats, Lonnie and Sierra. As a family, we enjoy camping and most outdoor activities, as you can imagine with Beagles.
Second, I am sure you want to learn about my credentials. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Central Michigan University earning my Bachelor of Science in Education. I continued my education, receiving a Masters in Language and Literature in 2008, writing my thesis on reluctant readers. I began my teaching career in February of 2004, teaching at Mt. Pleasant Middle School for twelve years. Currently, my academic focus has turned toward the technological aspects of a blended learning classroom.
My hobbies include--wait for it--reading and writing. I am a poet by nature and began this writing endeavor at the age of fifteen. Since 1998, I have published annual poetry calendars. I thoroughly enjoy reading young adult literature and classical literature as well. When paper and pen are out of reach, I enjoy pulling on my hikers and strolling through the woods with the Beagles and spouse in tow. I take an unfathomable amount of pictures, so I upload them to Facebook to share with friends and family.
I look forward to working with you; please let me know if I can be of assistance.
